Structural Engineer.

Ideally a Structural Engineer with Tekla Detailing experience.

Must have the ability to ;

Ø Read and Interpret information from Engineer & Architect Construction drawings either in paper format or BIM Models.

Ø Be customer facing and be able to take part in prestart design team meetings.

Ø Have the ability to value engineer a specimen design and present calculations to verify the rationalised design.

Ø Apply the structural Engineers connection requirements to the model, advise connection details and bolted requirements for both erection and architectural purposes such as the fixing of cold rolled material.

Ø Check designs for deflection, shear and bending moment capacity.

Ø Manage the in-house team of draughtsmen to produce the following outputs efficiently.

§ Prepare a 3d model of the Steel Structure from the information given.

§ Produce a model of General arrangement drawings to Engineers for preliminary Approval.

§ Update the model with comments / revisions as per engineers & architects instructions.

§ Prepare materials lists for procurement.

§ Prepare fabrication and assembly drawings.

§ Prepare Erection phased drawings and load lists.

§ Convert drawing files to CNC machine data files.

§ Track changes and produce variations.

Ø Liaise with Quantity Surveyors reference costing variations.

Ø Co-ordinate with fabricators & Erectors to split the structure into erectable lorry loads of material..

Ø Issue as built drawings as required.

Required:

· Experience with Tekla.

· Experience with design codes and software such as Master series

· Must be highly detail oriented with good verbal and communication skills

· Proficient in all Microsoft Office (Word/Excel), Outlook

· Ability to review and understand contract drawings and specifications

· Have an understanding of cold rolled section and accessories

· Have a good knowledge of architectural details and proprietary systems.
